Bavarian Mountain Hound Due to a change in housing circumstances, one puppy is back up for sale! This breed is very rare, and with this litter there are only 22 in BC.
Bavarian Mountain Hounds are traditionally used for blood tracking in Eastern Europe. They are wonderful working dogs with one of the best noses in the world, and are an asset to any hunter, as a tracker or retriever.
However, unlike many scent Hounds, these dogs are much more people oriented and easy to work with. As a result, they have also excelled in agility, obedience, as therapy dogs, rescue and recovery, or as companions.
These dogs are medium sized (40-55 pounds) with a single coat (limited shedding), and a friendly, loyal personality. They are great with children and other animals. As they are working dogs, they need a home where they will be active- having a job is great, but they are happy going for hikes or chasing a ball as well. Around the house they tend to be laid back and quiet.
Our puppies are raised in our house and will be well socialized, happy family pets. They are handled multiple times daily and have been around children, and have already started paper training. They were born March 31 and will be ready to go between May 26 and June 2. Both parents are imported and have papers.
